The Relocation Readiness program, part of the Army Community Service is the primary source of information to assist soldiers and their families as they relocate from one installation to another. Assistance focuses on preparation for the move (both to & from Fort Monmouth) and settling in. Newly assigned/attached military personnel, DoD civilians, contractors, and family members are invited to attend the Newcomers' Orientations held at Lane Hall, Bldg. 702. Call ACS for the latest schedule.

STEP 1: GET ORGANIZED

- Ask for your free copy of "Make the Right Move, A Guide to Military Relocation."
- Do you want a sponsor? Complete DD Form 5434 and submit to your local Military Personnel office.
- Ask for a SITES packet on Fort Monmouth. SITES has information on the installation itself, government and off-post housing, local school system, medical & dental facilities, employment opportunities for family members, as well as other valuable information on your new community or click here to download a copy. - Relocation counseling - The ACS relocation staff can give advice and answer specific questions.
STEP 2: MAKE YOUR TRAVEL PLANS
Money Matters. Schedule time with your ACS Financial Readiness staff. Fort Monmouth is located on the Jersey Shore and filled with recreational, educational and cultural opportunities. However, it can be a fairly expensive place to live if you are coming from certain other parts of the world. Some financial tips for newcomers. Temporary Lodging. Make your reservations as early as possible to stay at the Fort Monmouth Lodging, telephone (732) 532-1092; DSN 992-1092, Building 270, telephone Recently renovated, the 2-room suites are equipped with private baths, kitchenettes and dishes for your convenience.

Pets are not allowed in Fort Monmouth Lodging. Several off-post hotels accept pets, and there are local boarding services in the area. Check the Fort Monmouth SITES packet for further information. Make your reservations in advance and be sure to provide proof of immunizations for your pet.

STEP 3: ARRIVING AT FORT MONMOUTH AND SETTLING IN:
IN-PROCESSING:
Military Personnel: When you arrive during duty hours, you must report to the Military Personnel Division (MPD) located in Building 1123 Semaphore Ave. MPD provides in- and out-processing for all military personnel. DA Civilians: Report to Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel (DCSPER), located in Building 901 Murphy Drive. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. For assistance during duty hours, contact (732) 532-2656; DSN 992-2656.
NAF Personnel: Report to NAF In-Processing, located in Building 1123, Semaphore Avenue. Hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. For assistance during duty hours, contact (732) 532-2433; DSN 992-2433.
LENDING LOCKER:

The ACS Lending Locker offers basic household items such as aero-beds, kitchen kits, bedding, high chairs, car seats, etc., for temporary loan to soldiers and families awaiting arrival of household goods.

Army personnel should report to the Fort Monmouth Housing, Building 270. Soldiers may reside off post, however, before obtaining off post housing, you must report to the Housing Office.

Government civilians can utilize the Community Home-finding, Relocation & Referral Service (CHRRS) office. CHRRS offers a wide variety of relocation services. Rental and sales listing are available and can be mailed to you. They also have detailed information on the local area, housing costs, NJ tenants & landlords rights/responsibilities, schools, transportation, leases, security deposits, credit checks and utility costs. CHRRS is co-located with the Lodging Office, Bldg. 270 on Allen Avenue, telephone (732) 532-8993.
