CHECKING IN
1. Army personnel should report first to the Fort Monmouth Military Personnel, Building 918, to obtain a Housing Application. The following documents are required to In-process a soldier into family housing.
- One copy of PCS orders to Fort Monmouth.
- DD Form 1746 (Housing Application) verified.
If your records are maintained at another location and you are entitled to housing at Fort Monmouth, you must obtain a Housing Application and have it verified by your Commanding Officer.
2. You may apply for government quarters while in a leave status, but you may not be assigned quarters until you have signed in to the installation for duty. You will need the following documents to have your name placed on the Family Housing Waiting List.
- Army Personnel will need a copy of Leave Orders, DA Form 31. Personnel from other branches of service will use the appropriate statements from their branch.
- DA Form 137, clearance papers from your previous duty station.
3. You then proceed to the Housing Office, Bldg 270, with your documents to apply for government quarters, your name is placed on the appropriate waiting list, by grade and bedroom requirement, based upon your date of departure from your previous duty station, providing you apply for housing within 30 days of signing into Fort Monmouth.
4. Priority of placement on Waiting List for Family Housing is in accordance with AR 210-50, Table 3-3, and AMC Supp. 1 to AR 210-50.
5. If you wish to reside off-post, you must submit a memorandum with your signature and endorsed by your Commanding Officer, requesting authorization to live off-post.

1. Documents needed to in-process into CHRRS-
- One copy of PCs orders to Fort Monmouth;

- DD Form 1670 (Community Housing Feedback) to inform CHRRS of off-post address.
2. All soldiers may reside off post. However, you must submit a memo endorsed by your commanding officer. Before obtaining off post housing you must report to the CHRRS Office. The CHRRS Specialist provides detailed briefing and packets on locating adequate housing in the Fort Monmouth area.
3. The CHRRS Office offers Home Buying Guides for those individuals interested in purchasing a home. These guides provide information on taxes, closing costs, mortgages, loan applications, home inspections, and VA procedures and forms. The CHRRS Home Purchase Estimate Program can assist you in determining if your financial status is favorable for home purchase and the price range for which you qualify.
4. For soldiers whose financial resources are too limited to pay initial rent and security deposit, consult with the AER Officer at Army Community Service, Building 812, on possible assistance.

UTILITIES
Utilities (UDWP)................ : Utility Deposit Waiver program
Fort Monmouth Army Community Service offers this program which enables the soldier, stationed at Fort Monmouth, to sign a waiver exempting him/her from paying large deposits to the local utility companies. A soldier does not need UDWP if he/she is able to provide the utility company with a letter of credit from a like utility indicating a recent timely payment history from the last two years.

Verizon provides local telephone service and short distance toll calling within the regional calling area. For calls between regional calling areas in New Jersey and outside of New Jersey, you have your choice of a number of different long distance companies and will be asked to identify your preference when placing your order for service.
Several optional services are available in this area including but not limited to temporary suspension of service (for extended TDY), Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Three-Way Calling, etc. See your local phone directory for more information.
Verizon does not furnish telephones. You can purchase or lease them from many different suppliers. The Fort Monmouth PX carries telephones as do many stores in the area.
