GETTING TO FORT MONMOUTH
Fort Monmouth is located, primarily, in the borough of Eatontown.
FROM NEWARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Local Road north 1 mile to I-78; I-78 east 1 mile to I-95/NJ
Turnpike; NJ Turnpike south 15 miles to Exit 11/GSP; GSP south 26
miles to Exit 105 - ST 36; ST 36 northwest 3 miles to ST 35; ST 35
north 1 mile to Local Rt 537; Turn right into Ft Monmouth
New Jersey transit also has a train from the airport to Little
Silver which is about 1 mile from Ft. Monmouth. Take the North
Jersey Coast line and get off at the Little Silver train station. It
is around 1 hour from Newark Airport. At the train station, you can
walk the 1 mile to the back gate, but if you arrive after 10:00 P.M.
the back gate is closed and you will need to get a cab from the
train station.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Government transportation is not available to Ft. Monmouth and some
commercial fares can be expensive.
NEWARK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (EWR)
General Information
Newark International Airport is 1 hour from Fort Monmouth. Newark
Airport does not have a Military Assistance Office or a USO, but
they do have consolidated Ground Transportation Centers located
throughout the airport to provide assistance.
Rail transportation is possible, but there is usually only one train
an hour. New Jersey transit has a train from the airport to Little
Silver which is about 1 mile from Ft. Monmouth. Take the North
Jersey Coast line and get off at the Little Silver train station. It
is around 1 hour from Newark Airport. At the train station, you can
walk the 1 mile to the back gate, but if you arrive after 10:00 P.M.
the back gate is closed and you will need to get a cab from the
train station.
Door to door limousine, taxi or rental car is direct but expensive.
Shared ride on the Airport Limousine Express van or mini-bus will
take you to the main gate of Fort Monmouth for a reasonable fare but
you must allow time for their set schedule and several stops along
the way. Commercial bus service is the least expensive but is less
convenient and more time-consuming. Private Limousine Service fares
from Newark range from $35 to $60.
JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JFK)
General Information
Military members and their family members arriving at JFK
International Airport may contact the Military Assistance Office
(located on the 3rd floor, Departure Level, East Concourse, Delta
Terminal, telephone 1-718-244-1096/630-4304 or 1-800-227-8890
(outside NY State) for information and assistance regarding
transportation to Ft. Monmouth.
There is a USO Center in the Delta Terminal of JFK International
Airport, telephone 1-718-656-4616. The USO Center is staffed by
people committed to easing your trip and they can make
recommendations regarding transportation to Ft. Monmouth.
Private Limousine Service - arrangements for private limousine
service can be made at the Ground Transportation Center or by using
the courtesy phones located near the baggage claim areas. Several
companies provide service between JFK and Ft. Monmouth (fares range
from $57.00 to $80.00 plus tolls and gratuity). Allow up to 2 hours
waiting time if you have not made arrangements in advance.
